Designing The SSP

Minimalist, light-weight, only what you need and nothing you don’t.

With this in mind, I started designing the SSP (Savage Stock Pad). The First couple of designs were too small and too minimalist, so we refined the design to come up with the perfect size and components for the stock pad. Another key point making it easy to remove from your rifle for cleaning and adjusting. Once we got the key factors ironed out I really wanted to take this product to a whole new level and that was taking a huge leap and getting a new machine. A Bar Tacker was the machine I needed to elevate this product, and it did just that. Once I locked the design down and we did some testing, I started production, and that was a great learning experience. Even though this is a small minimalist product, it does have a lot of pieces. Cutting them, Organizing them so everything was smooth sailing when it was time to start production.
