Holsters with "Wings"/Belt Loops or paddle designs are incompatible. A tested holster list is provided, and users are encouraged to report compatibility of other models not listed.

Holsters for Your Beast Adapter

The number one question for our The Beast Adapter is “What Holsters Work?

While we haven’t and cannot possibly test every holster out on the market, we have listed below what we have tested with some that customers have told us they are using.

In short, any OWB (Outside Waistband) Holster should be compatible with The Beast Adapter. Not all of them have the same hole patterns, which will only limit the adjustability of the angle at which you can mount the holster. When looking at OWB holsters, we recommend one that is drilled for Safariland QLS or Bladetech/Teklok hole patterns. Any OWB holsters that use the “Wings”/Belt Loops or “Pancake” style designs WILL NOT WORK, as the mounting holes are one the outer edges of the holsters making them too wide to fit on The Beast Adapters Hole pattern.

If you are using a different holster you dont see, please feel free to let us know, and we will get them added to our list.

MULTICAM® BOMB POP

With some inspiration, I got a wild idea to help use some MultiCam® Alpine I’ve had sitting around for a while. I wanted to make a Red, White, and Blue bag for the 4th of July. The plan was to dye the MC Alpine with red and blue dye, and after some testing, I decided to make it more of a “tie-die” look. One showed the MC Alpine under print better, and it looks awesome. The downsides I found out after the fact are that the pieces got extremely wrinkly and shrunk. So this project quickly became an awesome learning experience and a slight pain in the ass.

These three packs are 1-offs based on our South Pass MKII CC. Which I removed the 4-way stretch front outer pocket to show off the Bomb Pop die. These packs also feature the oversized “Laptop” pocket that is not on our standard South Pass MKII packs. The main pocket is lined with M81 for the classic American vibes along with our signature Blaze Orange to help with visibility inside the pack. There is also an 8-inch strip of loop, so you can mod out the main compartment to your liking.

DESIGNING THE SSP

Minimalist, light-weight, only what you need and nothing you don’t.

With this in mind, I started designing the SSP (Savage Stock Pad). The First couple of designs were too small and too minimalist, so we refined the design to come up with the perfect size and components for the stock pad. Another key point making it easy to remove from your rifle for cleaning and adjusting. Once we got the key factors ironed out I really wanted to take this product to a whole new level and that was taking a huge leap and getting a new machine. A Bar Tacker was the machine I needed to elevate this product, and it did just that. Once I locked the design down and we did some testing, I started production, and that was a great learning experience. Even though this is a small minimalist product, it does have a lot of pieces. Cutting them, Organizing them so everything was smooth sailing when it was time to start production.

TRAVEL BUCKET

As much as I love the simplicity of The Dopp Kit, I wanted to try something new for an upcoming trip for my toiletry bag. I came up with this bucket design. Using 1050D Ballistic Cordura® on the bottom exterior and some of God’s Plaid (M81Woodland) that wraps into the top of the interior of the bucket. Then I used my favorite 1000D Orange for the rest of the interior. On the interior, I created two pockets with mesh and 4 loops for some organization. With some black paracord, I created a drawstring to sinch the top closed. This is where I overused the 1000D, it made it pretty hard to close all the way. I wanted the orange inside the sleeve for the paracord and it was too much fabric causing it to bunch up and not close all the way. However, for me, the top closed enough. This is something I will be working on before I release the Travel Bucket.

Exterior

  • 1000D M81 Woodland
  • 1050D Ballistic Cordura®
  • Black 550 Paracord
  • Savage Thread Works Hypalon Label

Interior

  • 1000D M81 Woodland
  • 1000D Fluorescent Orange Cordura®

HARD DRIVE BIBLE

I like many others use a Mac and run a couple of external hard drives. I have been using two separate HD cases, and hate the long setup time when commuting back and forth between offices. So I decided to create my very own one-off hard drive case. As I’m sure you are aware with a Mac you have to use a dongle to plug in your hard drives now which adds to the process. I had the idea of a pouch that will hold both hard drives, run the USB cables out the side and hold the dongle on the outside for easy access. I also decided to use my scraps for this project as well, one to use them up and two to add to the challenge. This project is also a learning process for me, designing and crafting a bag/pouch with more than one piece and using a front, back, and gusset.

MATERIALS

Exterior

  • 1000D MultiCam®
  • 1050D Ballistic Cordura®
  • Coyote Brown 1/8" Shock Cord
  • .5" Mil-Spec Webbing Coyote Brown
  • 1" Mil-Spec Webbing MultiCam®
  • 1" NEXUS D-Ring
  • #5 YKK® Zipper
  • Savage Thread Works Hypalon Label

Interior

  • 1000D Fluorescent Orange Cordura®
  • 1" Mil-Spec Webbing MultiCam®
  • 1" NEXUS D-Ring
  • 2" Mil-Spec Elastic Webbing

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Over the past year it has become clear to me, that supporting your local community is very important, and I got an opportunity to do so. I signed up for a local spring craft fair, yes a craft fair, to raise money for the local food bake. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was a lot of fun, and I had a great time meeting new people and engaging with the community. I was not prepared when I found out about the fair by any means, so I had to start cutting and build a bit of an inventory. I also decided to add 1050 denier Cordura® Ballistic Weave to the pouches. I also decided to try to through together a booth that looked apart of the brand. I plan to do more of these, so it will be cool to see how to booth grows.

WINTER TOTE RUN

My first micro-batch run to help learn more about bag making, and boy what a learning process it was. Everything from planning out the materials, getting back ordered on materials to sewing, cutting everything apart, resewing, cutting them apart, and repeating a couple more times. I feel one of the best ways to learn is to jump in and get your hands dirty, and I’ve done just that. Like I said this batch was very small with only doing 5 of these Winter EDC Totes. This was a test and a major learning process for me. Trying a new take on the zipper, an oversized pocket for mods, two pockets that fit 32oz Nalgene bottles, and 1-inch D-ring to easily clip your keys for ease of access.

JUMPING IN HEAD FIRST

Having no idea where to start or what to do, I started with a backpack design, doing some googling around, and found a US Based manufacture, I sent them an email and very quickly found out I needed a prototype created before I could do anything. Going back to Google, searching and emailing getting turned down, or told hundreds of dollars an hour to get a prototype created, I set my idea to the side. However, I didn’t forget about it.

Cruising the gram, I stumbled upon The Brown Buffalo and quickly became a fan. Following The Brown Buffalo led me to find @canvasworkers. Canvas Workers is the workshop held at The Brown Buffalo where you get the opportunity to learn about pattern making, sewing techniques, materials, and bag making principles with hands-on experience by making your very own market tote and backpack. With my idea still on my mind, I took this as a sign and jump on this experience.

With no experience sewing or ever thinking about tackling this feat of making my own prototype, I would say this class has been life-changing. Not just with a new skill of sewing, but a new outlook on all Softline manufacturing. This is also a great class to make some new friends and great connections.

GREAT FOLLOWS
